Kari Young is a writer and medium. But, with the caveat that – as a curmudegon and skeptic – she’s a bit of a “reluctant” medium, who took many years to embrace her gifts. As we all should be doing while we are here – embracing and sharing what natural gifts we chose to accept and bring with us this time around.
Though she’s read for many celebrities, she particularly enjoys radio where people can get a free reading. She sees her gift as privilege to be able to connect people to loved ones and as well as their Higher Selves, and one to be of service to help others spiritually. “When you give a healing, you get a healing” and when you give to others, it comes back many-fold. When you do a mitzvah, more light shines back on you.
She sees herself more as being of service to those on the Other Side that we can’t hear because the world’s noise and our noise gets in the way, so she will often allow them to interrupt what someone is saying in mid sentence, to show them and her skeptical brain, that what they are saying is probably also a validation for what the person was about to say, or address the topic that was being talked about.
She likens her phone readings to a three-way conference call with your loved one. It gives them a chance to check in with you and offer guidance. They can see our life paths and what our fullest potential is, so a lot of times these readings become a life path reading. And it’s often about doing the “spiritual homework” on our part, that is offered in these readings to help us create energy movement and bring more into our lives. They are like a spiritual life coach, they can see the future that can unfold, but we must do the work to get there. Free will also plays a part and things can always change.
She’s been clairvoyant since she was a child, we all are, but being in a society and having had a religious upbringing didn’t exactly encourage this gift. While it went dormant, during school years, dreams would come true, and she always could tell when they were prophetic or regular dreams.
Kari sampled free aura healings and psychic workshops at Berkeley Psychic Institute, which was the beginning of the path to opening this gift. She took other classes, but those first few experiences gave a glimpse that there were others who were of like mind.
And perhaps in a case of “thou doth protest too much,” she didn’t believe in reincarnation and would argue about it virulently with friends in college during those heady discussions about life, the universe and everything. But in her early 20s, reading “Many Lives, Many Masters” by Dr. Brian Weiss and then doing a past life regression (she was skeptical she’d see anything and fearful of whether she would or not), to her surprise, she easily saw a movie in her mind’s eye of a long ago life. That changed her life and how she saw the world.
Around this time, she was also seeing upward career changes for friends and people she came into contact with. What she saw would come true, sometimes years later.
Kari also became a certified energy healer as well, giving aura and chakra healings to people and their dogs. After her own tough journey and loss, she’s embraced this gift to be able to help others on this sometimes harsh road called Life. She’s been through her share of hardship, with a lot of loss at a young age, so she can relate to yours. She’s had to override her own shyness to help others open up their energy to see their highest potential and also to bring more into their lives that is good.
